I have a canon AE1. However, theres this ad for the Pentax k1000 in my area on craigslist for $ 50. This is a bargain? I 'heard the VE which is a great camera of the learner. It would be desirable to have 2 cameras manual film?

in my opinion all the SLRs is perfect, take an objective to frount and moving film from one side to the other …… k1000 and the AE1 cameras are fabulous, I retain the AE1 and perhaps spend $ 50 on another goal of the fee, outside cultivate these cams after your studenting to

The IMO, having 2 cameras of 35mm film has meaning only if both use the same objectives. Now if the K1000 comes with a pair of goals and projects you finally buy a DSLR then that would have been very K1000. Why? Since the Pentax K20D and K200D DSLRs can still use the older manual K-fire goals from mountains K1000. Of course, you could keep & black, white and Pentax film in color in AE1. O film of ISO 100 in an ISO 400 film in the other.
